An Exceptional Transport: From Germany to Denmark with Special Cargo Logistics

In the middle of June, we at Special Cargo Logistics received an exciting assignment from our valued client, transport company Gebr. Verhaar Medical Transport Services. The challenge was grand: organising permits and escort services for an exceptional transport of an MRI Scan Unit. This delicate cargo, provided by A. Boer Transport Nieuw-Lekkerland, was to be transported across Europe.

The destination? From Bad Hersfeld, Germany, where the MRI Scan Unit was at a hospital, back to Aalborg, Denmark, home of the unit's manufacturer. With dimensions of L 13.00 x W 4.00 x H 3.40m and a weight of 33 tonnes, this was no ordinary transport. The total dimensions of the transport were an impressive L 21.00 x W 4.00 x H 4.20m and a weight of 58 tonnes.

Prior to the transport, we took the necessary steps to ensure a smooth journey. Since the loading location was not nearby, we had a route survey conducted through our German partner, who captured all the details on video. This method, a standard practice at Special Cargo Logistics, helps to identify any bottlenecks on the route in good time.

At the carrier's request, we deployed a Dutch BF3 certified escort for the route in Germany up to the Danish border. For the state of Schleswig-Holstein, we opted to replace the police escort with an additional BF3 escort, which improved transport efficiency.

The permits for Denmark and the accompanying accompaniments were also fully taken care of by our team. The result? A successful transport that reached its destination safely and on time.

At Special Cargo Logistics, we strive to take on and solve the most complex transport challenges. We are proud to have been part of this project and look forward to many more successful transport collaborations in the future.
